One of my dad's favorite sayings is: Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain.
I gave it to him on a quotable card years ago and it's stuck ever since.
After a long (2 week) stretch of mood swings and major resistance for having to be in a nursing home temporarily, he remembered this quote. So we drew it out and hung it up across from his bed and then journeyed to the dining room after-hours to make a dance video (his idea).
I hope it makes you giggle and think about new ways to make light of bad situations. (You'll remember from my previous post that dance videos tend to be a theme for this kind of thing.)
I'm not saying this is the cure-all end-all, since more likely than not there will be roadblocks and difficult times ahead. But if nothing else it created temporary relief, a positive outlook, and a memory that will last.
Oh, and my dad also believes in the power of videos going viral and making people famous, and he wants you to be part of it, as stated at the 2:30 mark in the video.
So join us:
Make a video in the midst of your difficult situation and post it to YouTube, then share it here.
I can't promise you you'll become famous, but you will gain 2 raving fans and who knows what else.
I'd love to hear from you on this one, so share your thoughts (and videos) in the comments below.
to looking on the bright side,
p.s. I feel like an even bigger dance event at the nursing home is in order, so if you're interested in joining and are in the NY/NJ area, message me!
