This dance empowerment workshop - for all levels - is designed to reconnect you to your creative expression, confidence, and the unique goddess energy within you.

Using a handful of goddess archetypes and their pop-star music likenesses (i.e. Kali/Beyonce, Aphrodite/Lady Gaga, Artemis/P!nk, etc.), Jess will guide you through dances to connect you to your untapped power and creativity, and express something meaningful with them.

We'll begin with a structured warm-up, based in jazz, ballet, and African dance, designed to be accessible for all levels of dancers. After learning about the archetypes and popstar parallels, you'll receive guided prompts and exercises to help you access the different energies through your own unique movement.

themes for this session:

--> strengthening self-worth

--> letting go of stuck energy

--> reinventing through creative alchemy

We'll create goddess-inspired dance choreography together, highlighting each woman's divine power, individuality, and the essence she most wants to embody in her life.

Hear what students at the last workshop had to say:

whether it's been forever (or never) since you've taken a dance class, you will:

  • collaborate with a diverse community of dancers who see you, encourage you, and accept you exactly as you are

  • awaken latent creative energy within you

  • eliminate feelings of competitiveness, inadequacy, or negative body image

  • use dance as a vehicle for igniting more confidence, power, and freedom in your life

WE WELCOME EVERYONE…

From all types of dance backgrounds. From all levels of dance experience (including – none). This is not about learning one particular dance style. It’s about connecting to your own authentic movement (which may or may not be influenced by previous training) and gaining inspiration from the other diverse dancers who take part.

about the facilitator:

Jess Grippo is an award-winning dancer, writer, creativity coach, TEDx speaker, and the creator of You Can Dance Again. Although she went through 10 years of classical ballet training and received a B.A. from NYU in psychology, she left the more traditional dance and academic worlds to create her own career path. Her work is about guiding people back into dance: for self-reinvention, for reinvention of our world, and for reconnection to the power in our bodies. She enjoys making dance videos in the most random places, often with random strangers, as well as making shows on actual stages. She is currently writing her first book, Dance With This Book: A Guide to Start Dancing (And Living) On Your Terms.
