butterfly struggle

April 6, 2018 Jess Grippo

i heard this once and it's forever etched into my mind.

(I can't remember where I heard it, so if it's from you please remind me!)

When a butterfly is emerging out of its cocoon, it needs to push, fight, struggle it's way out. Why? Because that action is what gives its wings the strength to fly.

Someone did an experiment in which they cut open the cocoon for the butterfly so that it could peacefully emerge - and guess what? It was unable to fly. Its wings never had the opportunity to build strength.

if you're struggling, if you're in that dark cocooning place, it's not for nothing.

your time to fly is coming.

You just might not be able to see it yet.

Keep going. Keep building your strength. Keep dancing through it.

p.s. There are 4 more spots open in the Immersion program on April 29th. It's an opportunity to be in the cocoon alongside fellow humans who get it, and to receive my guidance and artistic direction as you develop a dance piece that reflects your process and supports your emergence. Registration closes April 17th. Learn more and join me here.

p.p.s. Want to continue last week's anger discussion? (Definitely helpful in the cocoon emergence!) Check out my latest broadcast with the incredibly wise and gifted women's coach/astrologer Jennifer Racioppi. Especially if you resist anger, feel your own coming through more, or want to explore ways to express emotions healthily and creatively, tune in with us here.
