there's nothing to lose but...

“there’s nothing to lose but the things we need to lose in order to get what we really want.”

This text message was sent by me to my friend in reference to a particular relationship situation, but I feel like it can apply to our creativity, too.

Sometimes we hold onto things because they feel comfortable and safe, but we don’t even realize they are blocking the view from what else might be waiting for us.

Don’t settle for the job that drains you, the partner who pains you, or the habit that strains you.

And while it might not be easy to let go all at once, we can always take small steps towards understanding more of what we truly want, more of who we truly are - undefined by those outside things.

I’ve found that the more I connect inwards through meditation and my own dance practice, the more clear I become, the more brave I feel, and the more able I am to let go.

can you relate?

If you need a boost, I’ll nudge you in the direction of Dance Alone, Together, my at-home dance revival program, because in it I provide you with the guidance and structure to do that thing we’re often most afraid of - listen to ourselves. It’s about making space for YOU, leaning into your body, and dancing into your answers.
